Last month I was invited By the President of the Urban Financial Services Coalition Ms. Anita Pierce To display my artwork At the 27th Annual Awards Scholarship Dinner held at the Hilton Plaza Towers. It was fabulous even though I had to do my 8-5 it was an 8-4 day for me instead. I had to transform myself from the domestic diva that I am, (Matron in An office Building with a Horrid uniform ) into an elegant lady for this black tie affair. As my luck would have it It that week, I was going through some dental reconstruction and I was supposed to speak a few words to describe what inspires me I was so hoping that I didn't have to speak on stage, not that I was to shy because I'm not but because my fear was to look like a Jack O lantern on stage in front of 350 people that I didn't know. The event didn't start at the time it was supposed to, So I didn't have to speak on stage. All in all I had a wonderful time, I sat at the table of a very proud mother. her son had gotten accepted to Harvard University and the young man received a full scholarship that night. I know that opportunities come and they go and even if all i did was display a couple of paintings and felt all that positive energy around me it felt great to be part of something that was so unforgettable it was an honor just being there.
